The shape of the current generation of ceramic grain is blocky and cuts less aggressively with great friction. Each individual NEW Norton SG BLAZE ceramic grain has a more elongated shape with extreme point endurance and improved grain microfracturing properties. The uniform grain distribution provides more uniform strength. SEM photo at 49,800x shows the unique combination of density and sub-micron crystal of SG grain. In the grinding process, each grain continually fractures along the sub-micron sub-sections to expose new, sharp cutting edges.
